About Cathy Harville

After a 20 year business career, Cathy Harville is enjoying an opportunity to rediscover making art, to celebrate nature and its beauty around us.

Cathy has been painting for about six years, and enjoys using pastels, watercolors, acrylics, and mixed media to express her themes of the vivid color and design of nature. Largely self-taught, Cathy participates in numerous workshops, and has studied extensively at the Staub Art Studio in Catonsville , MD. She has exhibited at the Montpelier Arts Center in Beltsville , MD , the Moosewood Restaurant in Ithaca , NY , and at numerous juried shows in the Baltimore-Washington metro area. Cathy is also a juried member of the Artists' Gallery in Columbia, MD (www.artistsgallerycolumbia.com), a cooperative of about 20 local artists.

Cathy's current interests include capturing the beauty of the Chesapeake Bay, from her boat and kayak. She also loves to paint hidden park areas, as well as natural landscapes that may be overlooked in everyday commuting.
